I have nothing much to say

This is my 99th post. So, that means the next is..... (can you guess??) my 100th!!!

Whiiiicchh, means my next post will be the answer post to my Ask Me Anything. Yay!! (If you have any last minute questions you'd still like to submit, feel free)

I couldn't find a draft post that I felt like working on, so I'm just going to ramble a bit today.

Well, I FINALLY got to see Cinderella after waiting months for the dvd release and then waiting another month to get it from the library. It was incredibly sweet and lovely. It's not quite a new favorite but there was so much I liked about it. Lily James was just a perfect Cinderella and I loved how she was good and kind as a promise to her mother, not just because she's that sweet. (Because, really, how unrealistic is that.) The scene where her mother and father and her hug for the last time.....I was crying.

Surprisingly I adored Kit. I didn't really think much of him from what I'd seen and one picture of him in his bright green jacket made him look a little creepy, in my opinion, but I'm glad to say I was completely wrong. He was SUCH  a wonderful guy, and ohh myy, the garden scene at the ball?? So precious!! And, of course, the whole ball scene was spectacular.

Just recently I found a movie at the library called Demetrius and the Gladiators. It wasn't until my brother read the back cover (I tend to just skim back covers-check the rating, of course, and figure out what it's about) that he called it to my attention that it was a sequel to The Robe. Say whaaaat??

The Robe is one of my favorite old, Biblical-era movies. It's not quite accurate in some respects (since the robe is said to have power and such) but it's so good and interesting and the ending leaves me in tears every time. And then I find out there's a sequel!!! I love discovering previously unknown sequels to stories I love. It's like having a "continuation" dream about the story--but it's REAL!! It's not just your imagination!! Haha I didn't like DatG as much as TR, but it was still really good.

I just finished reading Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers and wooooowww I liked it even better than the Fellowship (and I loved that one.) There were so many quotes I liked (Faramir's about not loving the sword for its sharpness etc. is a personal favorite) and guys, the ending where Sam is being all brave and fights Shelob and then courageously decides to take the Ring himself to do I even describe what an amazing part that was. I love Sam SO MUCH.
Plus, I thought it was an interesting idea...what if Frodo really HAD died?? What if Sam had to become the hero? I wouldn't change the story, but it's an interesting idea, indeed.

I can't say much, but I want to tell you something Very Very Very exciting......I am AT THE CLIMAX OF MY BOOK. THE CLIMAX. These means it will be done soon. I can't even wrap my head around this.
The next post on my story will be about my heroine. Here is a sneak peek of what she looks like.

How many of you are Star Wars fans? Did you see the latest trailer? Can we just take a moment to squeal (quietly if you wish) at it?  (If you're interested, check out my brother's post about it on his new blog!)
ohhh myyy soo sweet!
they'd better be married by now or I will NOT be happy, Bob. Not happy,

Of course, fall has been beautiful. I just love autumn! The purple shadows, the glorious colors, chill, smoky breezes, and the shiny gold leaves. Here are some photos I've taken lately.

Well, I guess that's all for now.  Naomi's Jane Austen Week just started so I'm anxious to publish this, then my Ask Me Anything, and then do a post answering the questions from her tag for the party!

I'll leave you with this adorable smile from Gregory Peck. awwwww

  1. Ok that picture of GP, let me faint
*Recovers* Gosh Star Wars looks AMAZING!! :-D We're actually playing the music in orchestra... and Man from Snowy River! *squee*
Ooh how exciting! I'll think of some questions!

    2. Natalie, I just LOVE your photography. These are so pretty. I especially like the one of your shoes. :-)

And the sight of Gregory Peck makes every day better. ;-P

    3. Emma- I KNOW I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! =D I basically had to hold in my scream of joy when we got the music. Oh first violin/concertmistress was like "EUUUUUUREEEEEEEEEKAAAAAAAAAA" and everyone was in hysterics.

    4. Evie, hahaha, I know, right? :) That's so cool you're playing SW music in orchestra! I actually haven't listened to TMFSR music....I'm thinking I should, judging from your and Emma's comments. :D

Emma, Thank you!! I appreciate it so much!

      Yes. Yes, it does. ;)

  2. Ooohh, yay, I can't wait for your answers post. :D
Cinderella is scrumptious! Oh, and I agree with you - I was very happy with how they 'did' the Prince. Kit wasn't annoying after all! ;D
"The Robe" sounds freaky that with Elizabeth Taylor? Or maybe I'm mixed up.
AHH LORD OF THE RINGS!!! I'm SO glad you liked The Two Towers. :D And the movie! Sam is SO darling. :)
Yay, congrats on your progress with your story! I wish I could say the same. :P I've not given up at all, but it's ssooo sllloooowww. *sigh* Just too much happening in my life. ;)
Star Wars fans?! Oh, oh, pick me pick me! *raises hand and jumps up and down* Call me crazy but I like Star Wars. ;D And I also can't wait for the next one! Ah! It looks epic. I love how they used the same actors. A nice sentimental touch. ;) And I totally agree - Han and Leia BETTER be married by now! (Surely they are. I'd be disastrously disappointed if they weren't.)
Wow, your photography is incredible! I thought I was rather handy with a camera but....yeah, maybe I'm not. ;P You must have a pretty swell camera though. ;D I love the shoe picture - and I really like your skirt. :D
Aww, Gregory Peck is waaayyy too handsome. I recently saw Roman Holiday and boy...he's pretty cool. ;) I'll have to see it again now!
    ~Miss Meg

    1. Miss Meg,
Heehee, thanks! No, "The Robe" has Richard Burton and Jean Simmons in it. Perhaps you're thinking of Cleopatra? :)
I know!!!!! Eeee, it's so fun entering into a "long established" fandom, aka LOTR. ;) And yes, yes, Sam is such a wonderful little hobbit!!

Thank you! Aw, I understand. Sometimes I wouldn't touch my story for weeks. And, unfortunately, as it is I've hit yet another rut even in my climax. -sigh- It's such a long, uphill battle. I know I'll get through it, but it's hard having such inconsistent progess!

Yay!!! Another fan!! I admit ever since the announcement I've been veeerry skeptical of the new movie, but the trailers have made me very excited. Although I'm still apprehensive. ha And YES. I will be VERY upset if they aren't married! It's pretty much my biggest worry about the movie, to tell the truth.

Why, thank you!!! That's so sweet! And I'm SURE you are good at photography! Trust me, I've been taking photos, 7 years now, so I've had plenty of practice. It really makes a difference! And ha, yes, I do have a nice camera. It was definitely worth getting one-it helps expand your potential a lot!

It's a dress, actually, and thanks! It's one of my favorites-I got it at goodwill and it feels so vintage. :)

Yeeeesss, he is!! You saw Roman Holiday!? How did you like it? It's one of my absolute favorites, although the ending is just plain wrong, in my opinion. :(

    2. Wait, I remember, I was thinking of National Velvet. ;) It's got nothing to do with The Robe (although I always associate Richard Burton with Elizabeth Taylor, after seeing them in Taming of the Shrew and knowing they were married). I haven't actually seen Cleopatra. :)
I think Lord of the Rings is my favourite fandom. :D At the moment, anyway.
Oh dear - well, I hope you'll fight your way through the battle and reach the wonderful ending! ;) Endings are some of the best parts to write, in my opinion. :D
I've only ever been excited to hear there's a new Star Wars movie. :D But I can understand why you would be skeptical, nonetheless. Yes, that's basically the worst thing that could go wrong. :P I hadn't actually thought of their NOT being married until you mentioned it.
Oh, 7 years is quite a long time! :) I'm not doing photography for a hobby or anything (although I do enjoy it!) because (1 I don't have a camera (2 I use my elder brother's camera, and often times he's at work so I can't ask him for a lend and if the batteries are charged and (3 I only do it if there's a particular need for it. :) For example, my sisters were asked to have some nice photos of their 'band' because they were going on posters and in the newspaper (they play country/folk music at concerts or gigs etc) and I was asked to do the photo shoot. They did the editing, but the photos all turned out lovely! They even got on the paper. ;) (My name wasn't given credited though. *sniff* :P) Or, we went to a flower festival and I took several nice photos of flowers which I really like. :D (I've gotten several prizes and ribbons at shows/what-you-might-call-fairs for my photos.) The main thing I learnt during photo shoots, was that photographers have to be willing to put themselves in awkward positions so as to get JUST the right angle. (Like squatting awkwardly while trying to tilt your head and keep the camera steady can be quite tricky. :P)
I love polka dots and vintage dresses, although I don't actually have one myself. *sniff* 'Tis rather sad. But, I do have some nice gowns that can be pulled off as ballgowns, which are lovely! (I recently went to a pre-1900s masquerade ball where we danced, and everyone was so dressed up - some even wore hoopskirts! That was amazing, that night! :D)
It wasn't quite what I imagined it to be somehow, but I still greatly enjoyed it. I think the main reason I didn't find it totally AMAZING was that it was a tinsy bit slow in places and our house was noisy at the time, so I couldn't hear a lot of the conversation (in a large family within a small house, people WILL talk loudly right next to the TV! >:/) and the DVD was scratched a little, so I missed some things. I was rather annoyed about that. But what I did see I enjoyed, and I think I would like it much better the second time around, because I know what to expect and hopefully will be able to hear it better. ;) The ending was very sad, but I suppose it WAS realistic, and not your normal fairy tale happily ever after ending. Still, I think I would have preferred the latter than to being realistic. :P Also, I had to rewind and watch that stick your hand in the cave's mouth scene again, because it was so adorable. :D
      ~Miss Meg

    3. Miss Meg,
Oh, okay. I've seen National Velvet! It's such a sweet movie! I haven't seen Cleopatra either, nor The Taming of the Shrew. Did you like it?

Really? Yes, I can see that. I haven't had much experience writing endings (cough) but I'm sooo excited for this one.

Aw, sorry if I made you worried. They're just one of my favorite movie couples, so it would just ruin the movie for me if they messed up their relationship in any way, shape, or form! haha

Oh wow! How fun! Now see, my photos haven't appeared in the newspaper...I've never even "officially" photographed you're farther along than me. ;) But oh! You weren't credited! I'm sorry. That would be disappointing. :( And your sisters' "band" sounds so neat! I love country-style music. :)

You've gotten prizes for your photos?? I'm impressed. I entered a sort of photo contest a few years back...I didn't win. :P haha
Yes! The awkward angles and crouches and positions,.... I understand. ;)

Eeeek! Oh, I'm so jealous! The ball you went to sounds marvelous! One of my "dreams" is to go to a ball of sorts someday...I'd love to go to a Jane Austen style ball!

Ah, well. It's okay if you didn't love it. :) I hope you can see it again, though! (without the noise, perhaps haha) Yes, I too would have preferred a happy ending! I know!! Wasn't it so cute?? It was unscripted, too! (according to what I've read, anyways)

  3. I love the picture for your heroine! She's beautiful -- I can't wait to read about her.

YES I SAW THE STAR WARS TRAILER AND YES IT WAS AMAZING. (and no, that wasn't quietly :P)

I really like those photos you took. Wonderful color! I just love fall.

Oh how exciting, you're going to do an Ask Me Anything post? I didn't know that -- here are some questions, if it's not too late:

    1) Have you ever been to Ireland?
    2) Do you know how to dance?
    3) When you go out in public, do you put your hair up or are you comfortable wearing it down (i.e., loose)?
    4) Can you cook or bake? If so, do you enjoy it?
    5) What musical instrument (if any) have you ever wanted to be able to play but never learned?

I hope those aren't too nosy :P I've got to run do school now.

    1. Thank you so much, Rosie!! :D I'm excited to post about her! I hope you like it. :)

Yay!! Another fan!! Haha, well, I sure wasn't quiet either. ;)

And thank you so much! I love fall, too. It's sooo lovely.

Thanks so much for the questions! They're great!! Not nosy at all. :) I hope your school went well!

    2. Oh I am SURE I will like it . . . by the way, congratulations for getting so far in your story! I am just beginning to be a "serious" writer but I haven't gotten even half-way on any of my projects *sobs*.

      Yes, yes, yes ;)

You're welcome! And yes, my school went fine - all except this paper which is being Rather Difficult i.e. it refuses to write itself. Tee hee :D

    3. Thank you so much! Aw, but you can do it!!! I've started ever so many books that never got finished. I think it sometimes just depends on finding that "right" idea. Once it comes, it just won't let you give up. ;)

And trust me, I've started projects that didn't last 3 pages. So I feel your pain. :P

Hahaha, well I hope you paper works itself out! Tell it it's being naughty and that it must obey you. (oh, but wouldn't that be wonderful if it worked that way? I sure wish it did. haha)

    4. Thanks so much for the encouragement -- it helps so much :) For the writing and for the paper. Thank you :) :) :)

    5. Aww, your welcome, Rosie! I'm so glad! :)

  4. This was such a sweet random post, Natalie! It made me smile. (That picture of Gregory Peck at the end...aww. Does that come from a particular movie?)

You've seen Cinderella! How delightful! It wasn't a new favorite for me, either, but I really enjoyed it, and in some ways it was a lot better than I was anticipating. Oh, yes! Kit! He was the best!! I loved his character! He was SO sweet! :D (And yes, that swing scene was pretty adorable.)

I've heard of Demetrius and the Gladiators, but I've never seen it. I liked the Robe a lot the first time I watched it, but the second time not so much. And as I've heard that the sequel isn't as good, I haven't really felt inclined to watch it. That is so neat, though, to find a sequel to a movie that you never knew existed! It's such an exciting feeling to know that there's more to a story then you were aware of! :)

Oh, I'm so glad you liked The Two Towers! Keep reading, The Return of the King is great, too! :) Sam as the hero? Wow. That would have been a real twist. I'm glad Frodo didn't die, though, because he's such a wonderful character. All the hobbits are! (I can't remember...has Sam found Frodo yet--or are they still separated at the end of The Two Towers? Because that's a really good part when he finds him and I can't wait till you read it!)

You're at the CLIMAX of your book???!!! Oh, Natalie! That's wonderful! I'm so excited for you! That must be an awesome feeling. Can't even imagine! Thanks for the sneak peak of your heroine! My excitement for you next story post is rising!!! :)

I've never seen Star Wars. They've always been the movies that "we don't watch" and while some of my siblings have seen them, I'm still holding out on them. I don't really know much about the stories...but from what I've heard and the pictures I've seen, I don't think they'd be my cup of tea. :/ I won't say I'm never going to watch them, though, since those will probably be my "famous last words" (I was never going to watch The Lord of the Rings, either), but for now...I'm still holding strong. Haha!

Your pictures are beautiful, Natalie! Like Emma, I really like the one with the shoes! Lovely!

Looking forward to your 100th post!!!!

    ~Miss March

    1. Aww, I'm glad, Miss March! I don't usually do random posts, and i almost didn't want to do one...but then I thought, "why not?" It's nice to just kind of ramble on without any set purpose. :)

Yes!! The gif comes from (I'm pretty sure...) a movie called Gentleman's Agreement. It's a REALLY good film, and I totally recommend it!

DatG probably wouldn't interest you TOO much if you didn't care for The Robe that much. I did like the story, but I think most of the excitement stemmed from its being the sequel to TR. :)

Eeee, yes!! I'm SO excited to start RotK! And'll be the last one. :( -sob- But then I can read the Hobbit! I haven't read that one yet. No, they haven't found each other yet. But now I'm really looking forward to that part!

Thank you ever so much!!!! I get so excited when others are excited about my book! It's hard to believe people beside myself get excited about it!! :D

Ah, well, they're not for everyone. :/ I know some people dislike them for the whole "force" aspect, and while I can understand that, I just love the characters and the stories so much! Heehee, I find that funny about your stance against LOTR. ;) Although I can understand why you would have felt that way!

      Aww, thanks so much!!

    2. Totally. It's relaxing to do a random post sometimes because then you don't have to worry about it all coming together at the end and making sense; or worry about having to get a particular point across or something. They're fun to read, too, because it's neat to see a glimpse of someone else's life and hear about the simple things they enjoy doing. :)

I'm going to have to look up Gentleman's Agreement. It sounds interesting. (I actually think I've heard of it before, but I don't know anything about the story) Thanks for recommending it. :)

Oh! There are SO many good parts in The Return of the King (just as there are in all the books)! And I can't wait for you to read it and experience all the wonderfulness of it for yourself. :)

That's probably how I would feel if I were writing a book, too. ;) Of course I'd want people to be excited about my story--and I'd probably think it was pretty good myself just because...well it was what I wanted to write--but yeah, I'm sure it would be hard to believe that other people could REALLY like it. I mean REALLY. I think you must be a good writer, though, Natalie, because you've definitely got me interested in your characters, and that's a BIG DEAL. One must like the characters one is reading about, you know. :)

Haha! Yeah. My siblings and I are known (amongst ourselves anyway) for making very bold statements about how we are "never going to do such and such." And then we act very shocked and ashamed of ourselves when we finally succumb. :)

      ~Miss March

    3. Yes! Exactly so. :) You described it perfectly.

It is really good! I hope you can see it. It's about a writer (Gregory Peck) who pretends to be a Jew in order to write on antisemitism. It's really interesting and good.

Awwwww, that means so much to me, Miss March! I'm SO happy you find it so interesting!! And yes! Characters mean everything in a story. And they fact that you like my As real as they seem to me, they are, after all, just people I made up in my head. :) Thank you SO much for your encouragement!!

Hahahaha, how funny! :) It sounds like you and your siblings have lots of fun. ;)

  5. YOU SAW CINDERELLA. I still need toooo.

Ahhh, Natalie, I'm so glad you're almost doooone with your novel! What an amazing feeling that must be! Best of luck finishing it! :-) You can do this!

Really looking forward to the 100th post. :-)

    ~ Naomi

    1. Naomi,
I KNOW!! Eek, I hope you see it soon! I think you'll like it a lot. :)

Thanks for the encouragement!! YES, isn't it though? Wow, it's really mind-boggling that I'm THIS CLOSE to the end!! What even.

Heehee, I'm so glad everyone has been appreciating him. ;)

  6. This post! The squee-ful-ness!:D

I totally agree with everything you said about Cinderella. Hearts<3

YOU FINISHED TTT!!!!!!!:D That makes me so happy. That means that you're going to read RotK next!! That is seriously one of THE most beautifully written books I've ever read, ever. JUST SO GOOD.

You're almost done with your book????? Whhhaaaaaaaat?! *cough* Y'know, if you ever want somebody to be one of those "first readers" or anything…I'm here…*cough cough*

Wow, those pictures you took are gorgeous! And Gregory Peck <3

I can't wait to read your answers for everything!:D

    1. Haha, thanks Olivia!!

YES I DID and I'm REALLY looking forward to RotK! These books truly are amazing. :) I should probably do a review of all three once I'm finished...I know you'll agree. ;)

Hahaha, good! You're on the list. ;) Thanks so much!!!

      I knoooooww. So sweet.

      Thank you!!!!

  7. YES! We can take a loooooooooong moment to squeal VERY LOUDLY over the new Star Wars trailer. The longer the better :) I am SO excited--it looks absolutely AWESOME and I already love all three of the new main characters. (Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron. Especially Rey.)
Hey, you're almost done with your book??? Congratulations! I can't wait to read all about your heroine!

    1. Hahaha, yay!!! Let's do it! :D I'm still rather skeptical myself (mostly on the storyline) but everything else looks amazing! And I'm very intrigued by the new characters!

Awww, thank you!!! I'm so happy you're looking forward to it!

  8. You warched Cinderella? Isn't it just the most beautiful thing ever? I laso loved their take on Ella's character - they made her true to the original fairytale without making her weak.

Congratulations on almost finishing your book! It must have been quite a lot of work.

How can one squeal quietly when Star Wars is involved?? It's so close now, and I'm really looking forward to it!

Looking forward to your AMA post, such are always great fun!
I don't know if it's too late but here are a few more questions:

What is your favourite period drama ever?
    Do you have any siblings?
    Chocolate or ice cream?

    1. Rose, Yes! I complete agree. She definitely couldn't be accused of being weak-she showed true strength through her gentle, kind actions.

Thank you!! was and is. ;) I'm so happy with how it's been working out, though.

I KNOW! Eek, I can't believe it's only about 2 months away and we still know SO little about the story!

Those are great, thanks so much! :)

I love comments as much as I love hot tea and a good book.....well, nearly, anyway!
Please keep your words kind and edifying.
